COVID-19 Announcement - Premier Teams

We are reaching out with important updates and information regarding the spring season, a virtual smart home training opportunity, and tryouts. Please review this email in detail and stay tuned for further updates.

Spring Leagues Update/Refunds:
As of last week, EDP Soccer will be delaying the start of the spring league season until at least May 15th. The CCSL confirmed that it has suspended all games (league & cup) until further notice. Neither league has made the decision to cancel their spring league seasons. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.

While the fate of these leagues is still uncertain, one thing that is certain is that if these leagues do proceed with an extended spring season, the offering our families have paid for up to this point will be significantly different. Thus, the FUSA BOD has made the decision to provide full-refunds (excluding tryout fee) to all players who were scheduled to compete on teams entered in either the EDP and/or CCSL this spring. With the number of families impacted, we anticipate this process taking a couple of weeks to complete. Please be patient and know that our volunteers will provide refunds as quickly as possible.

As a next step, if either (or both) of these leagues decides to proceed with an extended spring or summer competition, FUSA (in partnership with Olé Soccer) would develop a new premier club offering based on the league's new competition dates and re-open registration for affected players. New registration links would be sent to current spring season FUSA premier team players. More information to follow.

Virtual Smart Home Training:
Olé Soccer and FUSA have come up with a training plan to help our players continue to develop their skills while at home.

For the next 6 weeks, Olé Soccer coaching staff will release 3 age group appropriate
training videos every Sunday. These videos will contain exercises and tips on how to stay "soccer active" while following local authorities and government recommendations to stay at home and remain socially distant.

Below is the link to this week's Smart Home Training videos.

Videos can be accessed (every Sunday) directly from the Olé Soccer website. We encourage all FUSA players to visit the website, watch the videos, and keep a ball at their feet during these unprecedented times. Hopefully we will be back out on the pitch together again very soon!

2020-2021 Tryout Dates:
While we cannot confirm the exact dates for FUSA 2020-2021 tryouts, we are tentatively planning to hold tryouts on the weekends of June 20th-21st and June 27th-28th. We will provide more information regarding exact dates/times/locations for each age group and how to register for tryouts once we have more clarity from both state and local authorities. For now, please "save these dates." More information to follow.

We are heartbroken at the potential loss of our spring season. Like many of you, we are drawn to the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and community that the youth soccer experience provides. The absence of this season only serves to make us appreciate it even more. Those values learned are what carry us through difficult times and we are confident we will emerge from this to take the pitch stronger than ever.

Thank you for your continued support of both FUSA and our coaching partners at Olé Soccer. We have been providing updates as soon as we receive them and will continue to do so. We will aim to provide our next update once we have more news to share. In the meantime, please stay home, stay active, and stay safe!
